At Venerari Gems, we offer 14k Solid Gold, Gold over Stainless Steel and Gold Filled jewelry... now what's the difference between them?
Gold-plated jewelry has a thin layer of gold over a base metal typically less than 1% of total weight. The great thing is that we only offer gold plated over stainless steel or titanium steel, which are highly durable base metals as they are hypoallergenic, water-resistant and anti-tarnish. However, stainless steel pieces tend to have a darker appearance than gold filled.
Gold-filled jewelry has a thick layer of gold of at least 5% of total weight pressure bonded to the core. All our gold filled pieces are hypoallergenic and have a high quality jeweler's brass core. This quality is long lasting and even mimics the appearance of solid gold for only a fraction of the price.
14k Solid gold jewelry is made up of 58% pure gold and is a popular choice for fine jewelry because it’s durable, hypoallergenic, resistant to tarnish, and free from harsh chemicals. To be certified as 14K, the gold content must always be at least 58%. All our pieces proudly carry the official 14K stamp, ensuring their quality and authenticity.
Please read the Jewelry Care page for more information on how to properly take care of your pieces.
